Everything you need to know about Royal Ascot 2023 Posted On 25 May 2023

It is an incredibly popular event each year

One of the most important dates in the UK racing and wider sporting calendar is only just on the horizon, so make sure you are clued up on everything you need to know about Royal Ascot 2023.

This is an annual horse racing event that regularly hosts fine racing action, spectacular fashion and delicious food and drink.

Guests in their thousands typically flood to Ascot Racecourse, in Berkshire, dressed in their finest clothing.

What to expect at Royal Ascot 2023

This year’s Royal Ascot event will involve five full days of drama, from Tuesday, June 20 until Saturday, June 24.

Word-class thoroughbreds will thunder their way around the track, which is set amongst the tranquil surroundings of the beautiful English countryside.

Members of the Royal Family regularly attend Royal Ascot each year, with each day opening up with Royals arriving in horse-drawn carriages.

The Royals even have their own enclosure, where fine food, drink and fashion can be seen.

The newly crowned King Charles III is expected to attend the event, however this is yet to be confirmed, although he is known to not be as big a fan of the races as his mother was, the late Queen Elizabeth II.

On top of the brilliant racing, Royal Ascot is also well-known for attracting mouth-watering food, prepared by Michelin-starred chefs.

See if you can spot a celebrity

Big names and faces regularly make their way to the racecourse for Royal Ascot, and the 2022 event was no different.

The likes of This Morning star Holly Willoughby, Oti Mabuse, from Strictly Come Dancing, presenter Maya Jama and Made In Chelsea’s Georgia Toffolo, were all spotted in their finest gear in 2022.

How you can watch from home

Luckily, you do not have to make your way to the racecourse to watch the action, as Royal Ascot will be broadcast on terrestrial television for all to see on ITV and ITV4.

Coverage will begin from 1:30pm each day, before concluding at 6pm, while Sky Sports Racing will also be showing all races live.
